All proceeds from this year’s concert will benefit ITAC. The foundation will use the funds to grant applications they receive from organizations and entities seeking monetary support for programs or initiatives that improve community life—particularly the lives of children and families.
Aaron Lewis will perform on stage together with Special Guests Mike Mushok (Staind, Saint Asonia) and Adam Gontier (Three Days Grace, Saint Asonia), plus Ben Kitterman and Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour).
Opening the show will be Travis Marvin.
Aaron Lewis will headline the concert with his country band, and will close the night with Mike Mushok performing a selection of Staind hits.
About Aaron Lewis:
If it sounds like Aaron Lewis is long past defending his Country music pedigree, that would be a correct assessment. Lewis would prefer the music speak for itself and, with the release of SINNER, Lewis’ stunning Dot Records follow-up to his groundbreaking full-length solo debut The Road in 2012, any would be detractors will be pretty much out of ammo. Lewis, however, is not. SINNER blasts through today’s Country music doldrums like a shot of 100-proof whiskey, with the singer making zero compromises with either himself or the restrictions of a format that seems to have abandoned its rougher tendencies in favor of pop and ‘70s rock inclinations largely lacking in grit. “I’d like to think that SINNER is a newer take on classic, traditional Outlaw Country, Waylon and Merle and Willie, and Hank Jr. and Johnny Cash and all that stuff,” says Lewis. “That was the music I heard as a kid, and that’s the Country music that permeated my soul and stuck with me my whole life.
About It Takes A Community Foundation
It Takes A Community Foundation (ITAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by musician Aaron Lewis for the purpose of providing assistance to vital programs, educational institutions and services in communities that are in need of support.
ITAC was created to help revive communities across New England by aiding efforts to strengthen and enrich rural towns and small cities. The charity works with local leaders and community organizations that have firsthand knowledge of the needs of their communities. They support initiatives that improve community life — particularly the lives of children — within rural areas. They raise funds in order to support these community groups who strengthen, engage and enrich the communities they are in, sustain diminishing public services, and provide assistance to communities in crisis.
By supporting organizations, programs, and initiatives that are the social glue that hold rural areas together, ITAC assists these communities in helping themselves.
